Summer Post #5: Kael!

So we had fun in July, but between the heat, 8 kids, and being pregnant, I didn't feel much like taking pictures.  However, I did dig out the camera for Kael's very special birthday.
Our oldest son turned the big 8 this year!
We had meant to take everyone to the pool for the party, but... well, to make up for it, we had a water party!  Water balloons, bubbles, and running through the sprinklers.  The water balloon fight was a little conflicted, as there was a lot of I-can-dish-it-but-I-can't-take-it from the kids, but overall I think they'd all agree that it was fun and memorable.

Then after everyone was dried and dressed, we had dinner (pizza), presents, and after jammas, cake.  Kael picked yellow cake with purple frosting and red sprinkles.  I was shocked, too, but there it is!  He declared his birthday a smash hit!

Then, that very Saturday he was able to be baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  Seth baptized and confirmed him.  Our Bishop, Primary president, and his Primary teacher were all able to attend as well.  He glowed afterward, and it helped us all to feel the Spirit.

Kael is an amazing boy, and we're pleased he made this choice, and that he is growing into such a fine young man.  Love you, Kael!
